London dressed in Lights

London Dressed in Lights

There are cities that simply shine a little brighter in winter. And then there's London.
I, Sabine, was there at the beginning of December to visit my friend Kim. On our stroll through central London, we were surrounded by twinkling lights, many people, and that special atmosphere you only find here.
The photos say it all, really: London glows, and somehow, you glow right along with it.

Stop 1: New Bond Street. A house wrapped like a present

Our tour began on New Bond Street, right in front of the CHANEL Store, which every year looks like a giant Christmas present.
The large, radiant bow above the Chanel facade attracts many girls who take photos there – and we did too, of course.
This is where the cheerful photo of Kim and me was taken. Warmly bundled up, laughing, amidst the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle. A lovely start to our evening.

Stop 2: Old Bond Street. Crowns above the street

Just a few steps further, it gets royal. On Old Bond Street, the well-known glowing crowns hang above the street.
They float like little light ornaments overhead, warm, golden, and sparkling.
The street is beautiful anyway, but with the glowing crowns, you can't help but think of the royal family, and it's precisely this royal flair that makes the moment so special.

Stop 3: Mayfair. A sky of light points

On the way towards Mayfair, a street opens up, over which a net of lights is stretched.
Delicate spheres, gleaming dots, and a shimmering pattern that extends across the entire street.
It feels like walking under a luminous canopy that bathes the surroundings in soft light.

Stop 4: Regent Street. The famous angels

Finally, we went to Regent Street, where the large Christmas angels glow above the street.
Their golden wings spread wide, and as soon as you stand beneath them, you understand why this installation captivates so many people every year.
A brief moment to marvel, despite the hustle and bustle around you.

And of course, there are countless other lights, streets, and small surprises to discover.

London shines – and I shine a little with it.
I'm taking all the beautiful moments, the abundant laughter, the encounters and impressions home with me, and I'm sure I'll be back soon.

And I say thank you to my friend Kim, who made this weekend so special.
